STREBs virtuosic, daredevil performers combine extreme sports with dance. With backgrounds in ballet, modern dance, martial arts, acrobatics and circus skills, they use experimental technologies such as smart prostheses, personal robots and a human-sized yo-yo to create a new vocabulary of performance.
This performance is a part of The Institute for the Arts and Humanities Collaborations: Humanities, Arts & Technology (CHAT) Festival.
STREBs performances of Fall Line, Airlines, Surface and Look Up are made possible by the National Endowment for the Arts American Masterpieces: Dance initiative, administered by the New England Foundation for the Arts.
Elizabeth Streb is speaking in the Incubator Room in Hyde Hall on Thursday, Feb. 18th at 1:00 PM, discussing The Extreme Action Interface. For more information about the lecture, please click here.
