Featuring Jaques Morelenbaum and Bem Gil

The legendary Gilberto Gil introduced the late 1960s tropicália movement alongside Caetano Veloso and went on to become minister of culture for Brazil, playing a key role in the constant modernization of Brazilian popular music and culture throughout the world.

A singersongwriter and multi-instrumentalist, he fused bossa nova, samba and salsa with rock and folk music, becoming a world music pioneer.

"...playful and musically omnivorous."
