Memorial Hall has been at the heart of the Carolina campus for over 130 years. With the complete transformation of this beautiful building, brand new (and more comfortable) seats were installed in 2005, offering donors an opportunity to honor themselves or a loved one by making a "seat-naming gift". Gifts of increments of $5,000 entitle a donor to name one or more seats in the Hall. Small brass plaques are engraved and affixed to the back of the selected seat. We suggest the wording be limited to 24 characters including spaces and punctuation with a two-line maximum. More information on how to Name a Seat is available from by calling 843-2231.

Gifts may be pledged over a period of time, up to five years. As the Chancellor has observed on many occasions, this is the least expensive way to endow a chair at the University!
