Memorial Hall is one of the most exciting place to work on campus. Current opportunities for paid employment currently exist for Tech Staff, House Staff and a limited number of IT staff. Please read below for descriptions of the positions.
All new tech staff members begin as technicians. Technicians are expected to assist with load-ins, set ups, maintenance, events, and strikes for Memorial Hall, Gerrard Hall, and Historic Playmakers Theater. Hours vary by event. Shifts are scheduled around student class schedules. Employees must be available for a minimum of 15 hours/week. Note that events dictate night and weekend hours; availability for both is a must. Candidates must be able to stand for the entire shift and lift and carry 40 pounds. Prior experience is considered but not required.
All new house staff members begin as ushers. Ushers are responsible for the customer service (venue preparation) and patron relations (assisting patrons and audience safety) side of all events in Memorial Hall, Gerrard Hall, and Historic Playmakers Theater. Hours will vary by event. Shifts are scheduled around student class schedules. Employees must be available for a minimum of 15 hours/week (two weekday nights and one weekend night). Candidates must be able to stand for shifts lasting 3-6 hours and lift 30 pounds. Prior experience is considered but not required.

Carolina Performing Arts welcomes students and recent graduates who wish to broaden their educational and professional experience by working and learning with a performing arts presenting organization. Volunteer and paid internship opportunities with CPA provide valuable experience in all areas of arts management, including marketing, development, artist relations, and educational initiatives.
Internships require an approximate commitment of 10 hours per week, during which interns complete projects and task work within their department. Additionally, CPA interns benefit from a robust program designed specifically for their professional development.
