Hailed as a true superstar of classical music, Joshua Bell is one of the world’s most celebrated violinists and was recently named Music Director at The Academy of St. Martin in the Fields.
Equally at home as a soloist, with a chamber music ensemble or conducting an orchestra, Bell’s technical virtuosity and abilities as an interpreter are especially apparent in performances of his own cadenzas as part of his major concerto repertoire.
He has recorded critically acclaimed versions of Beethoven and Mendelssohn concertos also featuring his cadenzas as well as the Oscar Award-winning soundtrack for The Red Violin. This concert is supported by the annual conference of Music Teacher’s National Association.
Classical music performances are made possible by The William R. Kenan, Jr. Charitable Trust. We thank the Trustees for their visionary generosity and for encouraging others to support Carolina Performing Arts.
