Fatoumata Diawara

Fatoumata Diawara’s performance at Memorial Hall on April 11, 2014 replaces the One Night in Bamako performance that was cancelled on February 14. Tickets for the cancelled performance will be honored on April 11 with no further action required by One Night in Bamako ticket holders.

“the most beguiling talent to hit the world music scene in some time” – Telegraph

This performance of Fatoumata Diawara is made possible, in part, by performance benefactor NOA Living.

Perpetuating Mali’s rich musical tradition, Fatoumata Diawara combines songs about love, politics and empowerment with arresting melodies soaring over intricate guitar and drum arrangements. Inspired by jazz and blues, Diawara has created her own unique contemporary folk sound, with a distinctly African spin.
