George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic

Help Carolina Performing Arts kick of the 2014-14 season in style. More specifically, in George Clinton’s signature style.

We’re hosting a costume contest prior to the Maceo Parker/George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic performance on Friday, September 27. The contest will start at 7:15 p.m. on the steps in front of Memorial Hall. Judges will include CPA staff, select audience members and, just maybe, members of Parliament Funkadelic.

Show up in your funkiest, loudest getup from the 60s, 70s or 80s for a chance to win big. Grand prize winner will receive a poster signed by the performers, a pair of tickets to two upcoming performances and a small feature in the next issue of our season program book, Connect. Other prizes include tickets to upcoming performances, George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic merchandise, as well as your photo shared on Facebook and Twitter.

Halloween is next month. Get some practice in now! The contest is open to everyone, whether you’re attending the concert or not! We’ll have Chirba, Chirba Dumplings, one of the most popular food trucks in the Triangle, serving their wares in front of the Hall and a funk band out front to kick off the festivities. Help us make our season launch one to remember!
